So there’s been this porcupine hanging around our place recently. Β Couldn’t resist grabbing my camera today when he came by again.
All in all it was a rather amusing experience. Β He almost looks like he could be fluffy, eh?

As promised, here’s today’s portrait feature! Perhaps I should explain the name… π Of course, Squishy isn’t her real name, but a cute nickname… (hint: Finding Nemo.) Β I think it’s adorable! β€ Maybe because we call one of my younger sisters Boo…
We did this photo session last September, but it was right before my photo course and I bought a new computer and switched from LR 3 to LR4 etc, and I was busy and now it’s Feb. and I’m finally featuring the pictures here! π But maybe it’s better this way, a little taste of summer in the middle of winter, eh?
All in all, we had a fantastic time together! Great sunlight and a fantastic subject! She was about to start gr. 1, so Squishy is at the delightful age of learning and discovering new things for herself! She loves animals (obviously!) and isn’t afraid of bugs because she’s curious about them and what they do.
We had fun together, Squishy and I, the interaction level of a six year old is different from a one year or a baby, so I for one quite enjoyed it. Β π It was my delight to capture a few moments, at the beginning of one of life’s journeys … with school just around the corner, so much unlearned and undiscovered, so many books unread…knowing there’s so much knowledge around the corner! And to be blessed to live in a country where education is encouraged π
*sigh* I could look at those sparkly eyes ALL day… π
Well thank you, for letting me share Squishy with you today…it was definitely my pleasure! To look back and remember last summer and look forward to this one!
Enjoy the rest of your day, and choose to find a piece of beauty in it no matter where you are…because He always gives beauty for each day!

I love the expression on this little kitty’s face… looks like he’s brooding. Β I wonder what may be going through his kitty mind…

With summer almost over, I still wanted to post one of my very “summery” hats. Β The wide brim keeps the sun off and it’s nice and light-weight for those hot days. Β Because it’s so simple, it’s easy to dress down or dress up with it. π
The cat is a stray… she showed up about a week and a half ago and we haven’t been able to track down her family yet. Β She just joined us while we were snapping these pictures and they ended up being my favourite from the set. π

P.s. Thx for snapping the pics, Sis π
I promised myself I would stop posting kitty pictures…until I saw these. π It’s so fun to have little animals around, but especially during the summer when the kids can spend more time with them outside.
They’ve grown up so fast, and are just so fluffy and soft…and just downright cute. (And, I have a weakness for orange cats.)

P.s. No, I don’t promise this is the last kitten post.
Sometimes…pictures just work, just happen.
Yesterday…I “happened” to have my camera, Boo “happened” to be wearing orange, she “happened” to be holding an orange kitten, there “happened” to be awesome lighting. π
The result? My new favourite picture of Boo.
Yes, I still love orange kittens π

Daily posts about England are more work than I first thought! (But SOOO fun! π ) Just means that “other” types of posts aren’t happening as often. Β But that’s okay…I’m having so SO much fun reliving and sharing England! Anyways, here are a couple more pictures of our uber cute kittens.
They’re changing so fast, I knew I needed to post before they change too much more! At the time I took these pictures, the kittens were 10 days old.
Yes, this is the kitten that smiled last week….!
Baby animals are just so cute… they’re so tiny and fuzzy and pitiful….!
I’ll definitely be posting more of the cuddly things in the next few weeks, especially as they get bigger and start to explore etc.!
Till tomorrow!

The first thing that came to mind when I saw this picture: “This could be a Dr. Seuss character!” (I think it’s the smile! π )
I was planning to do a whole featured post on our little kittens (two of them anyways) but after editing this picture… it just seemed to need its own post. For some (perhaps odd?) reason this picture just struck me as absolutely hilarious. π Maybe because…it’s Wednesday, the middle of the week? (or because I’ve never seen a kitten smile in its sleep?)
So, I just hope this brought at least a smile to your face today…it’s rainy outside here so it’s always nice to have an extra reason to smile! π
More kitty pictures coming soon! π
