Feature: Isaac & Amanda

It’s been a little while coming…but here’s a peek at Isaac and Amanda’s lovely wedding day! I was trying to decide what to write for this post and words just didn’t come and won’t do justice to what I want to say.  My sister, my best friend, is married and now lives far away. It’s been fun editing these pictures because I always get to see her beautiful face!

I was honoured to not only photograph but also be a bridesmaid for this wedding… I’m very thankful for the help of Jess from Jess and Andy Photography for making that possible! So, I’ll leave the words now and let the pictures do the talking!

With their wedding being in March, we knew from the start that weather would be unpredictable (at best!) We were so blessed to be able to use the upstairs of one of our favourite coffee shops for our formal pictures…! The staff were so accommodating!  The atmosphere was awesome!

Following are a few pictures from the ceremony, since I was a bridesmaid all ceremony photos are credited to Jessica Schlamp as well as the above picture.

Getting to photograph women on such an eventful day of their life is always an honour….but to be able to do that for my sister…the honour was that much more special!

Feature: Kim

I’ve had these gorgeous pictures on my computer for awhile and I’m so excited to finally be sharing some of them on here…meet Kim; to say she’s awesome would be an understatement.  She has a great sense of humour, and is always up for an adventure wether it be a road trip or just a coffee shop meet up.

Kim has grown into a strong young woman who works hard to achieve her dreams such as organizing a young people’s mission trip because she’s interested in missions in Ecuador.

Not only have I been inspired but her “get’r’done” attitude but also by her self discipline and determination to learn something new.

She’s also got the musical gift…on the day I snapped these pictures she “only” had two of the five (I think!) instruments she can play.  We were missing the banjo, a piano, and a bass guitar. (I could probably add in mandolin …which would make six) and I could very well be missing a couple more.

I’m excited to see where God is going to lead her and how He’s going to use her for His kingdom!

Lulu in Lovely Light

When writing my last blog post, this picture came to mind.  It represents some of the thoughts and feelings I was trying to convey.  It’s a picture that’s a little different from my same old “usual”.  But I love that it’s different.  The light and the colours.

Besides…she’s just super duper adorable so I’d probably love almost any picture of her!

Feature: Amanda

So very VERY honoured and excited to feature one of the most beautiful people I know: my sister.

We both had Monday off because it was Family Day here in BC.  It was sprinkling snow but not super cold out… so we took advantage of the day and did a little photo shoot.

(It was graciousness on her part because I wanted to play with my new camera.)

I’ve blogged about her off and on over my time of blogging so feel like I’d be repeating myself if I sat down and started writing too much.  Maybe today, I’ll let pictures speak. My words wouldn’t do justice to who she is to me.  My best “girlfriend” – you know…that one with which you can laugh hysterically, the one whose thoughts you can almost read, who tells you how it is, listens, gives advice….but the best part? She’s also my sister.  😀 If you know this gal in real life, you’re the one who’s blessed!

Oh, hey 2014…?!

 

Somehow…since the last time I blogged; not only has Christmas pasted but also New Years, and all the fun, joy, love, celebrating and craziness and general chaos that surrounds them… it’s hard to believe we’ve passed the halfway mark through January! :-S

Anyways, just a little note to say that I’m back around (hopefully! 😉 ) and am super excited to be sharing some recent-ish photo sessions on here very soon!

So for today enjoy the adorable smile, the twinkling eyes, and sprays of freckles…I can’t help but smile when I see that face 😀

I fell in love with this picture the minute I saw it upload from my camera.

A picture I snapped of Lulu a few weeks ago and just came across again today.  We were enjoying the warmth outside when I noticed that the pages of the book I was reading produced great catchlights in her eyes. 🙂

Earlier this week, I took one of my sisters with me to assist for a photo session.  We were there a little early to scout out some locations for the photo session…she happily complied when I asked to to model for me.  These are a couple of my favourite snapshots.

This Moment

 

This story behind the photograph…

Last night we were all sitting down to dinner and I looked over and saw Lulu crawling towards the door – immediately, I saw the above picture in my mind – exactly as you see it.  So I pulled my iPod out of my pocket and snapped it.

Sometimes our favourite pictures aren’t taken on an amazing camera. I love this picture because of the story it tells.  It’s the story of my baby sis – Lulu, barely a year old…discovering and exploring the world around her. It’s precious because in a few weeks she’ll be walking – she’s still in that crawl everywhere stage. Her whole life – the whole world out there – is ahead of her – waiting to be discovered.

And I captured one tiny moment of it.

Time is flying by – and the only time that “belongs” to us is this very moment – right now.  Everything else is either already past or in the future. (Think about that, eh!)

So be thankful for right now; use right now to its full potential.

Feature: Liebelt Family

So excited to feature the Liebelt Family on my blog today!

Especially little Leon…

(Hum yeah, I kind of fell in love with those eyes!)

…The day before our photoshoot Leon celebrated his FIRST birthday!

It’s hard to believe he’s a year already…He sure doesn’t look like the same newborn featured on my blog last year…Yeah, I did this cute little guy’s newborn pictures….wow time flies!

Then his mom brought out the bubbles…

Leon was a trooper, our photoshoot ran into his nap time, he did pretty good though – considering. 🙂  He’s also the first child that LOVED my camera….maybe because of the clicking sound? We had a hard time getting him to sit still and NOT crawl for the photographer… (I was flattered though 😉 )

We ended the session with a little cake smash… he was really tired by this time so the cake wasn’t that interesting to him… but it was fun 🙂  Maybe we can do another cake smash when he’s 10 or something – now THAT would be…crazy! 😉

And just one more to end today’s post. I seriously had a hard time choosing which pictures to blog…there were so many adorable ones!
