30 Days in England: Day 21 (Roman Baths)

Yesterday was a tiny peek of the city of Bath.  A good chunk of the day we spent in Bath (sounds better when you pronounce it with a British accent by the way!) was spent in the old Roman Baths.  Wow…was that ever amazing!

The architecture was outstanding!

Down inside was just as phenomenal…but I really had to pick and choose my pictures (especially when trying to fit the entire Roman Baths into one post!)

Old tiles…used for heating.

An indoor round bath…

Back outside but down below

Visiting the Roman Baths was totally worth it… there’s so much history and information.  Re-reading this post, I realize I’ve barely scratched the surface…hopefully it’s just enough to make you want to visit! 😉

30 Days in England: Day 20 (Bath)

Ah…the city of Bath! 🙂 Also one of my favourite cities.  However, we spent most of our day trip there in the old Roman Baths (come back tomorrow to see those!) so here are just a few pictures from around the city… 🙂

A few pics inside the Meeting Rooms in Bath. (Ever read Jane Austen’s Persuasion or Northanger  Abbey?)

The details were exquisite!

Um yeah… just like they have epic gravestones in England they also have epic chandeliers…

Since we’re still in the Persuasion mood… If you saw the 1995 version of the film you’ll recognize this street. 😉

Of course we can’t have a “Bath post” without pictures of the Royal Crescent.

Sadly, I didn’t have a wide angle lens with me and couldn’t capture the whole thing… it was still amazing though! 🙂

Of course… if you’ve seen the 2007 adaption of Jane Austen’s Persuasion you’ll recognize the crescent as the place where Anne runs (and runs!) 😉

The “circus” in Bath. 🙂

Just a tiny taste of Bath… Such a beautiful place… the pictures don’t come close to capturing it!

…AND…Happy SUMMER, all!
