Stylistic Portrait: MJ

Here’s a portrait of my friend, MJ.  He was my fellow intern in Colorado…and piles of fun! 🙂  It was really fun to hang out with him because our photographic styles are different (you should see what he can do with a flash…or two…or five!) …I so enjoyed his perspective and ideas.  Definitely came away from that week with new inspiration!

Oh yeah…he likes hats too – How cool is that, eh?!

P.s. Sorry again for my “lack-of-blogging”- life has been super crazy! (which makes me 😀 and 😦 haha!) Anyways, check back soon (like tomorrow or the day after! 😉 ) I’ll be posting my most recent family shoot as well as the wedding I photographed a couple weekends ago – soon!

I’m still here! ;-)

I can’t believe my last post was April 11 – yikes! It wasn’t planned that way…but life just kind of happened and is still happening!  I’ve been busy…busy as in I’ve been gone (still am technically) and have only been home for one weekend in April.

March just kind of ran into April and now April is almost over…!?

But I’m back (to blogging), and I’m here, and I’m planning (hoping!) that I can get back into blogging consistently again!

I’m just coming to the end of a lovely little holiday…I spent the last week in Colorado interning with IPS, the photography group I’ve taken courses with in the past. (You might remember all those blog posts about lighting from back in September ending with Devon’s portrait shoot in Garden of the Gods!)

Now I’m spending a couple days here in Portland with my photographer friend, Ashley and her family. (Check out Ashley’s blog HERE!)

We went for a walk this morning… it’s been raining.  And I loved it…because all the green – and the slight wetness – reminded me of England.

Enjoy your day – I most certainly am! 🙂

Portrait: Devon

So I’m super excited to share today’s portrait feature with you!! 😀  This is Devon, she was my model for my final shoot at my photography course.  For our finals, we went to Garden of the Gods which is close to Colorado Springs, Colorado. The goal was to use our speed lights as well as the natural light around us.

My beautiful bubbly model Devon.  She’s been living in Colorado for the last few months and at the time of this shoot she was leaving for home in the next couple of days. My goal was to not only take great pictures of Devon, but to capture Devon in Colorado…so that when she sees these pictures she would be reminded of her time there.

I really enjoyed the challenge of using “artificial” light as well as ambient light.  I was also blessed with a patient model! The location of Garden of the Gods was also absolutely spectacular!

Thanks Devon, for being a great model! For your patience! For your laughter! Keeping sharing that gorgeous smile….and I hope you get to go to Oxford someday! 🙂
