I’ve been asking myself lately (among the bazillion other things always swirling through my mind) if my blog is dead.
I don’t know.
I guess I haven’t decided how or if I’ll try resurrecting it. I’ve considered many times deleting it and/or starting a new one. I’ve tried and pressured myself many times to restart or keeping going from where I left off. I’ve realized that that would be impossible because in the five years since I started blogging I’ve almost become a completely different person. In five years not only have I gotten married, I’ve become a mother, and my hubby and I have build a house (well, almost…it isn’t finished yet haha.) Going through all of those life events changes you. Part of me wishes I could have kept up with the blog for my own sake to be able to look back at the memories.
This blog is special though because it’s a little piece of my personal history that will always be there. The pictures and the memories tied to it are priceless especially as I see how much my family has changed as well and how my little siblings have grown up into beautiful teenagers.
I still love creating…and maybe this will grow into a new and different creative outlet.
The possibilities are endless…and maybe that’s the best part?
From these pictures you would never guess that Luke and Piper’s wedding day was rained out!
The downpour caused their original ceremony location to be changed last minute…which also included the need to find a new location for their formal pictures.
However, I couldn’t be more delighted with our “plan B” location and the fun we had.
I only have happy memories when I think of their wedding day! Luke and Piper, thanks for letting me be a part of your day!
It’s been a little while coming…but here’s a peek at Isaac and Amanda’s lovely wedding day! I was trying to decide what to write for this post and words just didn’t come and won’t do justice to what I want to say. My sister, my best friend, is married and now lives far away. It’s been fun editing these pictures because I always get to see her beautiful face!
I was honoured to not only photograph but also be a bridesmaid for this wedding… I’m very thankful for the help of Jess from Jess and Andy Photography for making that possible! So, I’ll leave the words now and let the pictures do the talking!

With their wedding being in March, we knew from the start that weather would be unpredictable (at best!) We were so blessed to be able to use the upstairs of one of our favourite coffee shops for our formal pictures…! The staff were so accommodating! The atmosphere was awesome!

Following are a few pictures from the ceremony, since I was a bridesmaid all ceremony photos are credited to Jessica Schlamp as well as the above picture.
Getting to photograph women on such an eventful day of their life is always an honour….but to be able to do that for my sister…the honour was that much more special!
A wedding blog post wouldn’t be complete without a few more icluding the bridesmaids and groomsmen…right? Photo credit of the bridal party: Jessica Schlamp

I’ve debated a little on this post… Mostly because it’s my fault. I’ve taken this wonderful family’s pictures before, but with my life being busy…
…in other words I was preoccupied first with a boyfriend, then a fiance, then with planning a wedding… and if you’ve followed my blog at all (or more likely you gave up on my blog and I lost you along the way haha!) you’ve noticed I haven’t been blogging lately.
So to tell the truth, I have some other photoshoots of this family I haven’t posted yet. Like her adorable baby pictures…(ah those eyes!!)
And another session of these boys before she was born…
But in the end I decided for now, to start current… and in the new year I’ll catch up on what I missed before. 🙂
But back to why I’m here…! We hit a lovely fall day, no rain, no wind…and not too cold for the little ones! I always enjoy the interactions with children, making them laugh and giggle… (and coaxing them to look at the camera! haha!)
Can’t end without a picture of their lovely parents!
Come back in the new year, I’ll be posting some more of this awesome family!
Seriously, these kids just get more adorable every year (not that I’m biased! 😉 )
Can’t get enough of these
eyelashes eyes and that closed mouth grin!
Full of giggles and overflowing with spunkiness (I think I made that word up!) I get a kick out of this kid.
I could probably do a whole blog post just on her expressions and personality (maybe I will!)
Brotherly love (Can’t you just see the older-brother-pride in his eyes?)
That same closed mouth grin just melts my heart.
Look who’s all grown up?
I love how they love each other…. the love of a sister is such a special gift!
Till next time…
Those days when you come across a picture.
A picture of people. Of good friends.
It brings back memories.
Maybe you’re even in the picture.
It makes you miss the people who are in it because they’re far away.
You know it’s going to be a
long while before you see them again.
That’s when you smile…and are thankful for such awesome people you’re able to call friend and for all the great memories and for all the time you have been given in the past.
So here’s to good times and good friends…the ones who are close and the ones who are far away!
Sometimes there’s perfect light when you’re not waiting or looking for it – suddenly it’s just there. This happened a few weeks ago…but the best part? Some of my lovely friends happened to be with me…
“The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides.” ~Audrey Hepburn
…so I grabbed the ones that were close by and snapped some head shots. It was great fun.
“I believe happy girls are the prettiest girls.” ~Audrey Hepburn
And I was reminded again of the gift of friends and friendship. Of laughter. Of moments…because perfect light doesn’t last, it’s gone soon after it appears, but true friendship will last as well as the memories we share together.
Thanks for the moments and the new memories, girls!
Oh hey there! Can someone kindly tell me where September went? Thanks 🙂
Seriously, I can hardly believe I’m typing out October 1, 2013. I was still kind of personally in that “summer2013” mode. But that’s definitely passed. It’s back to hot drinks at cozy coffee shops, boots and scarfs and jackets…and really, fall is a lovely time of year…one of my favourites.
Just popped in here to say I’m alive and (very!) well and am excited to get back into blogging. I’ve missed it. Come back soon for updates, I have some great stuff to share with you (soonish!) 🙂
Wildflowers and hills that keep going on and on. Isn’t it lovely?
This is taken at Silver Star Ski Resort just out of Vernon, B.C. Canada. In the winter this is a ski hill. 🙂 I’d never been up there in the summer and was awed by the beauty…yup, I’m pretty blessed to live here in Canada.
