Yay! Another hat from my collection! 🙂 Sweet, I’m excited to share this one with you because it’s one of my favourites!
I love how the lace gives a little feminine touch to this “poor boy” hat.
This style works great if you have slightly longish bangs like I do (at the moment.) I have the rest of my hair in a braid but this hat looks great if you have your hair in a low bun. Back in the day when my hair was shorter I wore this hat much more frequently than now. It also works awesome on shorter hair styles, especially shorter styles with some layering.
I first saw this hat on someone else and couldn’t ask them where they got it because they were driving away from the drive thru already! (This was way back in my Tims days…) Anyhow, imagine my surprise and delight when I found the same hat in a store a while later! 🙂
It’s also versatile in that you can wear this hat backwards as well.
Guess that’s about all for now… thanks for stopping by! 🙂
Wow! Just realized tomorrow is May 1st!? I think I still might have unfinished Christmas candy somewhere…oops.
Remember Jannice and Astrid?
They’re best friends…
It was absolutely fantastic shoot them! 🙂
True friendship is one of life’s greatest gifts.
The best part about being best friends with someone is that you can “just be you”.
The best of friends are the one with whom you can laugh the hardest.
It is one of the blessings of old friends that you can afford to be stupid with them. ~Ralph Waldo Emerson
The pictures say more than my words can today. I had so much fun on the photoshoot, watching Jannice and Astrid interact with each other, seeing how comfortable they are with one another. That is the best part of having a best friend I think!
Since there is nothing so well worth having as friends, never lose a chance to make them. ~Francesco Guicciardini
The friend is the man who knows all about you, and still likes you. ~Elbert Hubbard

while he has a friend.”

“Good communication is as stimulating as black coffee, and just as hard to sleep after.”
-Anne Morrow Lindbergh
Hope you enjoyed this little taste of friendship! True friendship really is priceless!
Meet my sister, Rasco*. I’m featuring her on my blog today for a few reasons!
First of all it’s her birthday today! So for her 11th birthday, I took her out for a little photoshoot.
Another reason was the dress…
Every little girl should have a dress as special as this, their very own “princess dress”. I remember mine… My Grandma sewed me a flower girl dress for my uncle’s wedding. It was black velvet with gold satin bows and I wore a crinoline with it so it would be “poofy” (especially when I twirled). This is Rasco’s princess dress, and I wanted to have some pictures of her in it before she grows out of it.
The story… Rasco was in town a few weeks before Christmas with our Mom when a copper coloured dress caught her eye. As it turns out the biggest size they had left was too small for her. A trip to Fabricland and some of my older sister’s hard work later… this dress is the result (and it’s so much more beautiful than the one in the store!) Rasco picked the colours of it to match her (gorgeous!!!) hair .
Our location today was a little road/pathway behind out house a ways. When I suggested the photoshoot to Rasco she specifically requested this spot.
I think we both thought it would be more green out there by now (other years the Saskatoon bushes are blooming already!) But it was still rather brown…so we made to with what we had. 🙂
We had fun on the shoot today (or, I did anyways 🙂 I hope she she did too haha!) She’s been a willing participant many times before… thanks for putting up with me again, Rasco. I always love seeing this precious red head through my lens, she’ll be back 😉
P.s. Yes, I always wished I had red hair…just sayin’.
*Rasco isn’t her real name…we’re not that weird ;-). I’ve decided to use nicknames etc. for my siblings (especially my younger ones) on my blog to help keep their lives private. J (It’s not their fault I have a blog 😛 ) (It’s pronounced with a British accent sounding something like this: Rossco)
Yup, it’s friday…and yes, I’m breaking out of my “blog 3 times a week” box. 🙂 (there’s already one scheduled for tomorrow if you just counted how many times I blogged this week 😛 )
But, I’m happy…so I’ll blog (that’s a good enough reason, right? 🙂 ) Besides, sometimes it’s nice break a habit and do something different. Get out of my own “self-imposed” box…
Actually, the real reason I’m writing a quick blog post is to say “thanks”. I’m celebrating over 1000 hits to my blog page, no I don’t know the usual blog stats and if this is normal or even worth celebrating (and yes, I’m too lazy to research them 😛 ) But whatever, this makes me happy, especially because my blog has only “been public” for a week and a couple days ;-). Yesterday was my busiest day with 300+ views. Thanks Anna and Jannice, you gals helped make it possible I’m sure! Just wanted to say thanks for all the support to all you who have been reading and following etc! 😀
Anyways, just wanted to say I’m excited. Look for some new features etc. in the next few weeks!
Here’s a hint at tomorrow’s blog post. I’ll leave it up to your imagination to what it alludes…
Till tomorrow, always…Aims
Meet Jannice, high school graduation, class of 2012!
Ah, I’m SO excited to introduce you to Jannice! We had planned to do her grad shoot last week and then ended up postponing it until Monday. Monday turned out to be a fantastic day for shooting…which makes me extra glad we had to reschedule! 🙂 We were going for a little more of a rustic feel for this shoot and decided to take pictures at the Father Pandosy Mission in Kelowna.
Jannice has been a friend of mine for a few years, it was such a privilege to take her pictures.
When I think of Jannice one of the first words that comes to mind is “sweet”, and it’s true, she’s an all around sweetheart in the best sense of the word…but she also has a super fun personality (especially once you get to know her!) 🙂
It was for Jannice’s sister’s wedding that I traveled to Germany last year. While there…I was asked numerous times how I was related to Jannice…I guess lots of people think we look alike. I’ll take that as a compliment thank you very much. 😀
But here’s the sad part 😦 (sad for me anyways!) Jannice’s future plans include moving back to Germany… That selfish side of me comes out when I say I’m sad…because that means she won’t be here with us! 😦 However, on the other hand, I’m so happy for her! She’s already been accepted into a nursing program there and she says she wants to come back! 😀
So I’ll look on the bright side and enjoy her for the next few months before she goes back! Besides, this means I have a place to stay if I go back to Germany, right? 😉
A special thanks to Jannice for be so fun to take pictures of… I couldn’t have done it without you! 😉 Don’t stay in Germany too long, ok?
