Yay! Another hat from my collection! š Sweet, I’m excited to share this one with you because it’s one of my favourites!
I love how the lace gives a little feminine touch to this “poor boy” hat.
This style works great if you have slightly longish bangs like I do (at the moment.) I have the rest of my hair in a braid but this hat looks great if you have your hair in a low bun. Ā Back in the day when my hair was shorter I wore this hat much more frequently than now. Ā It also works awesome on shorter hair styles, especially shorter styles with some layering.
I first saw this hat on someone else and couldn’t ask them where they got it because they were driving away from the drive thru already! (This was way back in my Tims days…) Anyhow, imagine my surprise and delight when I found the same hat in a store a while later! š
It’s also versatile in that you can wear this hat backwards as well.
Guess that’s about all for now… thanks for stopping by! š
Wow! Just realized tomorrow is May 1st!? I think I still might have unfinished Christmas candy somewhere…oops.
Well, I’m thoroughly enjoying the sunshine today (even if it is from indoors at the moment!) Maybe I can walk to my little coffee shop later on. š
No epic blog post today, just writing a little note to say I’m updating and working on myĀ facebook pageĀ today instead. Ā Posting and adding albums of some of my recent shoots that have been on here. Ā If you liked what you saw here be sure and check out my facebook page, I’m adding pictures that weren’t posted here. š
Enough of my facebook rant, that’s not what today’s post is about. š
Today I’m also editing this week’s shoots and starting to prepare some of next weeks blog posts. I’m already excited about what’s coming so be sure and check back in here. (hint: little boys with trains. I’m also really looking forward to introducing a very special person in my life š ) That’s some of what’s coming!
For today… a picture of our cat, Night-Fury climbing in some blossomy bush (have no idea what’s it’s called; sorry!) Anyways, I thought it was cute…hope it makes you smile too! š
Hope you were able to take a minute and relax and enjoy your Saturday. š
Iāve hinted earlier at my favourite colour: green.
But, why? Well, hereās my āgreenā story. š
I didnāt grow up loving green, and calling it my favourite colour.Ā Actually, I canāt even remember what my favourite colour as a kid wasā¦hum, weird.Ā Anyways, I didnāt wear green, all my accessories werenāt green etc.Ā Soā¦Green came into my life with a ābangā or, quite literally a splash of paint.
Rewind my life back two and a half years:
Itās a few weeks before my birthdayā¦and when Mom asked what I wanted, I suddenly had this brilliant idea. āFor my birthday, I want a can of paint for my bedroom walls.āĀ I was somewhat ecstatic when she actually agreed.Ā The only stipulation was that we both had to agree on the colour.Ā I was just excited for the change⦠anything would be better than my currant bedroom wall colour (you know that babyish princess pink that every 6 year old LOVES? Hum yeah⦠letās just say I havenāt been six for LONG time!)
Too make what could be a long story shorter⦠Iām sitting in my bedroom now, surrounded by ālightā green walls and chocolate brown accents.Ā As one my friends stated when she had a sleepover, āI always wanted to sleep in a lime.ā š
Postcards I collected while in England...tacked up on my GREEN bedroom walls! š
But you know what? I love it! Why? Because itās SO different than the rest of our house, than the rest of my life, haha.Ā Itās so refreshing to come homeā¦and to walk in and ābe in another worldā ;-).Ā Itās almost become a haven of sorts.
When I think of green, some of the first words that come to mind: Spring. Resurrection. Fresh. LIFE! England. Rain. Happy. Mint chocolate chip ice cream.Ā The list could go on and on⦠š
For myself, it has come to represent optimism, or rather the choice to be optimistic. I also heard somewhere that āgreen is the colour of hopeā. Maybe it’s true.
When itās muddy and yucky outside, itās still bright and cheery in here. šĀ However, even after that, green only stayed on my walls.Ā Itās only been in the last six or sevenish months that itās made it into other parts of my life and in a few different shadesā¦( I also adore Kelly green by the way.) Or maybe I’m just noticing it now.
So, here are a few of the āgreensā that surround my every day life.
the flashlight on my keychain...My iPod case and the case for my Kobo eReaderCurtains..."my mouse" šmy travel mugI even had green butterflies put on my nails a couple weeks ago...Yes, I am cool enough to use a green violin bow...just sayin'My recent VV purchase. Airwalks in my size...and they're green! How cool is that, eh?
So thatās why I choose green to accent my blog, my facebook, twitter, and website. Green reminds me of life, and to choose to look on the bright side. And always to have hope!
