Well, I’m thoroughly enjoying the sunshine today (even if it is from indoors at the moment!) Maybe I can walk to my little coffee shop later on. 🙂
No epic blog post today, just writing a little note to say I’m updating and working on my facebook page today instead. Posting and adding albums of some of my recent shoots that have been on here. If you liked what you saw here be sure and check out my facebook page, I’m adding pictures that weren’t posted here. 🙂
Enough of my facebook rant, that’s not what today’s post is about. 🙂
Today I’m also editing this week’s shoots and starting to prepare some of next weeks blog posts. I’m already excited about what’s coming so be sure and check back in here. (hint: little boys with trains. I’m also really looking forward to introducing a very special person in my life 😉 ) That’s some of what’s coming!
For today… a picture of our cat, Night-Fury climbing in some blossomy bush (have no idea what’s it’s called; sorry!) Anyways, I thought it was cute…hope it makes you smile too! 😀
Hope you were able to take a minute and relax and enjoy your Saturday. 🙂
See you Monday!
Meet Jannice, high school graduation, class of 2012!
Ah, I’m SO excited to introduce you to Jannice! We had planned to do her grad shoot last week and then ended up postponing it until Monday. Monday turned out to be a fantastic day for shooting…which makes me extra glad we had to reschedule! 🙂 We were going for a little more of a rustic feel for this shoot and decided to take pictures at the Father Pandosy Mission in Kelowna.
Jannice has been a friend of mine for a few years, it was such a privilege to take her pictures.
When I think of Jannice one of the first words that comes to mind is “sweet”, and it’s true, she’s an all around sweetheart in the best sense of the word…but she also has a super fun personality (especially once you get to know her!) 🙂
It was for Jannice’s sister’s wedding that I traveled to Germany last year. While there…I was asked numerous times how I was related to Jannice…I guess lots of people think we look alike. I’ll take that as a compliment thank you very much. 😀
But here’s the sad part 😦 (sad for me anyways!) Jannice’s future plans include moving back to Germany… That selfish side of me comes out when I say I’m sad…because that means she won’t be here with us! 😦 However, on the other hand, I’m so happy for her! She’s already been accepted into a nursing program there and she says she wants to come back! 😀
So I’ll look on the bright side and enjoy her for the next few months before she goes back! Besides, this means I have a place to stay if I go back to Germany, right? 😉
A special thanks to Jannice for be so fun to take pictures of… I couldn’t have done it without you! 😉 Don’t stay in Germany too long, ok?
Today I get the pleasure of featuring Anna! She’s graduating from high school this year and we decided to start celebrating already! She’s graduating in a couple of months, and we also “happened” to do this shoot the day after her 18th birthday. 🙂
Not only does Anna have a fun personality, I like her fashion sense too. 😀 She inspires me to be different and to be more adventurous in my own fashion tastes.
We did the shoot in downtown Kelowna at the waterfront. After having a snowfall the week before, we were both pretty excited to have such a sunny afternoon for the photoshoot.
Anna is also a licensed lifeguard and swim teacher, but her future plans include something in the nursing field. I’m pretty sure she’ll be fantastic at whatever she sets out to do!
Hey, she can even drive stick (I can’t do that yet!) I mean, how cool is that? 😉
I had a blast Anna, thanks for letting me take your pics! All the best for your future! Hope to see you through my lens again soon! (Sooner than later I think… I’ve seen her prom dress already!) 😉
Happy Spring everyone! 😀
However…up here in what’s usually known as “the sunny Okanagan” it’s snowing today! Talk about a weird winter! I hoped for more snow all winter…and now that it’s finally spring… it’s snowing outside?!
But that’s okay… it just means I get to cuddle up in warm fuzzy blankets and (the perfect excuse to) have an extra cup of coffee. 😀
I decided to embrace the “snow theme” today… here are a few pictures from a recentish portrait shoot I did.
Meet Arienne….And her lovely horses; Mercury and Nevada.
There’s just something about that relationship between a woman and her horse(s)… that’s can’t really be put into words.
Hum, I’m not sure what exactly, it is… but I just liked the next picture 🙂 It makes me think of an aged postcard or something.
And one more before I go…
Hopefully, my next post will be a little more springish, haha! But with this weather, who knows! If you’re basking in the spring sunshine somewhere…enjoy some for me too! 🙂
