From these pictures you would never guess that Luke and Piper’s wedding day was rained out!

lukepiperblog_aimsphotography_okanagan_vernon_photography_wedding_-photos-14

The downpour caused their original ceremony location to be changed last minute…which also included the need to find a new location for their formal pictures.

lukepiperblog_aimsphotography_okanagan_vernon_photography_wedding_-photos-9

However, I couldn’t be more delighted with our “plan B” location and the fun we had.

It’s been a little while coming…but here’s a peek at Isaac and Amanda’s lovely wedding day! I was trying to decide what to write for this post and words just didn’t come and won’t do justice to what I want to say.  My sister, my best friend, is married and now lives far away. It’s been fun editing these pictures because I always get to see her beautiful face!

AmandaIsaacBlogAS-5

I was honoured to not only photograph but also be a bridesmaid for this wedding… I’m very thankful for the help of Jess from Jess and Andy Photography for making that possible! So, I’ll leave the words now and let the pictures do the talking!

With their wedding being in March, we knew from the start that weather would be unpredictable (at best!) We were so blessed to be able to use the upstairs of one of our favourite coffee shops for our formal pictures…! The staff were so accommodating!  The atmosphere was awesome!

Getting to photograph women on such an eventful day of their life is always an honour….but to be able to do that for my sister…the honour was that much more special!

Taylor and Krista’s wedding was an honour to photograph.  They’re super fun and chill…and their wedding party was pretty cool too 😉

That moment when a groom first sees his bride is always priceless

AimsPhotography_Wedding_Photography_Kelowna_Okanagan_Photographer_.photos

Krista is a farrier, so when we were choosing a location and the option of a barn with horses came up…I knew it would be fantastic! It was!  The horses seemed to enjoy the bride and groom too.

Feature: Wedding – Arienne and Jeff

Last June, I had the honour of photographing Arienne and Jeff’s rustic country wedding.  AimsPhotography_Wedding_Okanagan_Portrait.Photography-6

Arienne was an absolutely gorgeous bride. She was cool enough to wear cowboy boots and a jean jacket…and to have her horse join in some of the pictures.

It was a perfectly bright June morning…Arienne and Jeff were so easy.  They’re laid back and relaxed, we had such a great time.

Their love was so beautiful because it’s real, it’s genuine.

This was only a few weeks before my own wedding, and it was truly a blessing to be at Arienne and Jeff’s. They inspired me to enjoy every part of my own wedding. To take it easy and have fun!

Arienne and Jeff, it was a privilege to be part of your day.  I wish you only the best in the future!

Since Febuary

To sum up my life since February in a few sentences…

I went to Hawaii and fell in love with the ocean, the colours, the sounds, the mysteries.

photoI came home and got engaged a few days later.

DSC_0041

I did some super awesome photo sessions including a beautiful wedding down in the States.

I planned.

I stressed (fact: every bride stresses at some point even if she doesn’t want to).

I learned.

I matured.

I (tried to!) enjoy it!

(As in most similar situations, there were parts of it I loved and parts of it I detested…but that’s typical.)

…and then I got married!

Looking forward to catching up on the last seven months…I have some awesome photo sessions to share! Come back soon!

Wedding: Eugene and Sabina

Kelowna_Photographer_Wedding_AimsPhotography.photos-1-3

I’d known Sabina a few years ago when we both attended the same youth group, so I was excited when she sent me a facebook message one day telling me she was engaged and inquiring about me photographing her wedding.

Kelowna_Photographer_Wedding_AimsPhotography.photos-1-7

Kelowna_Photographer_Wedding_AimsPhotography.photos-2-2

I met Eugene for the first time when we all met for coffee to talk wedding and photography.  I noticed right away how much he cared for her and what was important to her, and that he had her best interests in mind.

Kelowna_Photographer_Wedding_AimsPhotography.photos-1-5

Their story is cute.  Sabina bought some speakers for her vehicle from Eugene’s brother.  However, she didn’t know how to instal them, so he suggested she go to his brother, Eugene, who is a mechanic, and have them installed… well, as you can see, that was only the beginning of their story. 😀

We were all so very thankful it didn’t rain! It rained the day before and then a little in the morning and during the ceremony, but for the pictures later it was dry and the sun even came out later!

Hum yeah, aren’t they a cute couple? Lots of laughter that day!

Mike and Jenn: Married!

Mike and Jenn were married at the Walnut Beach Resort on Osoyoos Lake a few weeks ago. I was honoured to be a part of it! Here’s a little peek of their day!

Jenn’s bouquet, with a picture of her father who has passed away. What a unique way to remember someone so special on your wedding day!

Jenn, the gorgeous bride!

Jenn’s brother, walking her “down the aisle”…

Saying “it was hot” would be an enormous understatement…! My guess was that it was at least 37 degrees, maybe more.

The bridal party 🙂

Some more of the lovely couple.

Congrats Jenn and Mike! I wish you all the best! 🙂
